Feb. 1 Memory Verses

What's your next verse?

Shout out to Rob for keeping me accountable. I did not get my verse down word for word this time, and of course Mr. Rob asked me about it today. :) Let me be an encouragement to those of you who may miss one here and there. We are all human, we all have better stretches than others. that's one reason this board is good accountability! I don't want to be embarrassed again. :)

I'll post my new verse later.

Keeping with Pastor Les's Making It Personal... I will be claiming this verse... (thank you dear friend for lending this to me)Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Hear O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when your get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Wow! Stuart is kicking things up a notch with 6 verses...way to go!

Well I have been so blessed by memorizing my first two verses in January, that I am also raising the stakes for myself a bit this time around. This time around I'll be focusing on Psalm 1:

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.

1 Peter 3:15, 16
15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. Sorry, I can’t run with the big boys, I am going to have to stop with 2 verses. Steve

Psalm 111:10 (New International Version)

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise.

Wow - I'm so far behind in posting, I'm sorry. Here is my verse for this time around:

Romans 10:14-15
14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news"
